Upgrading to Spinbrush Pro and 6-cell. Have Questions.
Im upgrading my Supra to a spinbrush pro motor and 6-cells. I was wondering do I have to upgrade the FETs or should it be ok. I'm also running command logic lights and a neon underbody kit. I don't know if this would make a difference. Someone w/ some info let me know please. Thanks. I'm going to try to post some pics when I'm completely done w/ my upgrades.

A spin brush with six 1.2 to 1.5v cells *should* be okay.
Neuro says the stock spin brush motor pulls 0.28A which should be fine. Six 1.5v cells, or 9v should be okay. I've heard various reports about what the electronics can handle, anywhere from 9 to 18 volts, but if I were you I'd keep it around 9.

Well, from what I've heard, the spinbrush motor is so powerful, that with the blue gears, it will still spin the tires off your Xmod, it's that powerful. Also, with a 5-cell mod and the regular NiMH batts, it will have the same top speed as the blue motor and gears in Stage 2, and with a ****load of torque, @ 6 volts. So, I'm guessing that if you upped it to the 6-cell mod, that would be 7.2 volts, so....let's see.....umm....(do this...and.....carry that.....and......umm.....) you'd probably be 20% faster than the stage 2 motor with blue gears....which would be an estimated top speed of 25 mph.....hmmm.....Well, go for it! What are you waiting for?
P.S. *Secret tip* if you use 6 IC-3 batts in there, which will be 8.7 volts, then your car may go up to around 30 mph!!!!
(with the spinbrush motor and the blue gear, of course )

Thanks for the help. I'm going to try to finish putting the motor and battery pack in this evening so once I finish that I really want to upgrade the tires and suspension, but I'll probably post pics before that. Everything is going to be a little crowded with the neon transformer and command logic lights transformer , but I'll manage to fit it in there one way or the other. Thanks again.

I'm not sure where you are getting these numbers from, but they are not at all accurate. A Spin Brush motor does not put out the same kind of RPMs as a stage 2 motor. Not even close. My 30 turn 180 motor only hits 23mph with 6 cells, and it is spinning about the same rpm as a stage 2, but with more torque.

What I meant was that with 4 batteries, the sipinbrush motor revs slightly lower than the Stage 2 motor. But with 5 or 6 cells, and with IC-3 batts or something, it will be equal to or greater than the stage 2 motor.
Oh well, what do I know

So is the Spinbrush motor better than the stage 2 or not. I'm just looking for suggestions, but if the spinbrush isn't better than stage 2 I'm not gonna waste my time with it.

What do you want your car to do? The SBM isn't as fast as a stage 2 motor, but delivers much more torque. Depending on your specific application, it could be better, or it could not.

A S1 isn't better than the S2, nor the other way around. The SB has more RPMs than the S1 but less torque. Its just another option that falls in between the S1 and S2 kit.
The mags in the SB cans are stronger, they will add torque and lower RPMs with any of the RS armatures.
