The Tamiya Mini speed checker said 39kph(24mph).

Are the Xmods the same size as Tamiya mini 4WD cars?

If so I can go 24mph!

The most accurate way would be to check it with a radar gun.

Are you guys using 5 or 6 cells? I was wondering how fast a 5 cell would be because i might add one to my car.

I use 6 AAA I-C3's and hit 40km/h with the blue motor.

It did the 10m in 1.03?

You roll then hit the start button, right? I think the front wheel drivetrain is what's slowing you down.

Or do you hit the throttle all the way on the third beep?

Keep in mind that this checker is made for cars that do not have throttle control. You are supposed to set the car on it, get the wheels spinning slowly to make sure it is going straight, then you go wide-open, and then you hit the start button and take your measurement. When you do the time-to-distance measurement, you are supposed to be full throttle before you start.

For the most accurate results, you should be running the car with the body on (not possible with all bodies, as the front overhang is too long), and all four wheels should be turning the rollers (unless of course, you are RWD)

My drag Civic hits 38kph on my speed checker with six cells, and 33kph with four cells.

I don't think you can correlate results from machine to machine, though. It's more for testing your gains/losses.

I agree.

I just wanted to see a rough estimate of where my car ranks.

With the power from 6 cells I have a lot of trouble keeping the car on all 4 tires.

Would the susp. upgrade help a lot?

How should I setup my suspension so it wouldn't be so easy to flip over?

possibly the best setup is medium all around if u are a perfectionist like me you spend at least 4-5 hours evening out the suspension balancing the springs and checking if the tires are parallel to the ground so far on my car is flips less gets more grip
turns better and accelerates faster with yellow definatley for the rear but i have not yet tested and balanced the front

whats the sense in being full throttle when your doing a time/distance run?when u put the car on u can give it gas then let off, then the car will stop blinking, then u can push start,if i have mine full throttle on the 10m,it does less than a second.that doesnt give me any idea on tq

These things just aren't designed to do that kind of measurement. If you could start from a dead stop, then it might mean something, but the speed checker is designed only for top speed. That's it.

Honestly, I don't know how useful the time/distance run actually is, even for the Mini 4WD guys that this was designed for.

It's hard to compare if we don't have the car WOT for distance runs.

I had my car go 45km/h!
