locking differentials

can someone give me instructions on how to lock my car's rear differential? i am hoping for higher drift capability with un modified tires, and i hear that locking the diff will yield in better results. should i just junk up the gears with grease? or is there another method? can someone post a pic if possible? thanks!

There have been several ways discussed. I reccomend that you try out the search feature to find them.

People have duscussed glueing, using Greast, flipping the gears around, filling with paper... Or try your own!

just fill it up with superglue, get krazyglue gel type so it won't leak out all over the place, reassemble and let it dry and harden

Or you could fill it with putty epoxy. It is like silly putty, you mix the 2 colors together and then place it in the Diff. When it sets it will be as hard as steel, it will NEVER give then. I call that LOCKED!

I used gum. It still slips a little, but not badly or anything.

There are three screwes in the differential. Unscrew the screwes and place the stuff there.

There's something wrong with my drivetrain.

I don't have AWD.

If I were to hold both rear wheels so they don't spin and hit the throttle, the gears would still rotate.
