Hot Hot Hot

Last time I ran the 6-cell Supra, the rear body mout tab came off and when I stuck my finger under the body, I found that the heatsink (metal stage 2) was pretty darned hot to the touch. I've heard lots of people say that their motors stay cool, so is this normal or because of the 6-cell or anyone have any ideas what's up. I don't think it's hot enough to do any damage, because my Monster's motor gets that hot too.

it's probably teh 6 cells. i haven't really played with my stage 2 motors with anything but 6 cells and the first time i tried it, i wasn't sure how hot it was and i almost burned myself.

if i had the means, i would create a heatpipe coolor, like the ones in computers especially the shuttle XPC small form factor barebone computers. i would make a copper plate attached to the motor can with a bit of arctic silver between teh surfaces (after i get rid of the sticker then run a couple of thin copper pipes to teh front and put aluminum fins on it and mount it where a real radiator woudl go. cut the hole out and you'll get fresh air going in to cool the radiator. or you could mount it elsewhere, put a scoop somewhere and channel that air to the aluminum radiator. with such small size, i think it would way as much as two motors at most unless we go nuts in size lol. just an idea, not too serious aBout it even if i did have the means.

the simplier idea woudl be to channel air from an air scoop and have it blow over the stage 2 kit's heatsink motor mount.
