Whoever owns a Mini-t here, can you give me some information or a website to find more information?

I've seen some rumors about servo problems? Can someone confirm or deny this before I get one?

it seems that they are having strength issues...many of them have pins breaking...however...the servo is 4 wire...what's worse is that it isn't a standard servo...just gears and a motor...the pcb is inside the ESC/RX unit...unreplaceable in other words...
but according to Rich Truijlo(sp?) losi's team manager, they are shortly comming out with an adaptation to use aftermarket servos...

sorry bc i cant confirm any problems with the servo... with anything new there can be things that go wrong. i believe these mini's are meant to run stock out of the box... but as with any hobby quality rc we jus cant leave well enough alone and tend to hop up beyond design use where would the fun be if we didnt ....heck with your rc collection i think it would be a very nice addition...go for it.

Well, I made a one hour drive today to get the last Mini T in the surrounding states. This thing is a load of fun. I can run it indoors and outdoors. Speed is OK, but I've already looked into moving up to the 6 cells and bigger motor. I plan on hopping up everything I can, they are already planning on releasing aluminum parts, tires, wheels, etc. Gonna get ahold of some clear bodies too and paint 'em up. This will be a fun little truck to hop up at a fairly cheap cost.
I would reccomend this to anyone.

i have now officially done by best to beat this truck into submission..broken off two turnbuckles they snap back on stripped a pinion it goes on backwards for more punishment. very difficult to control it in my living room and basement since i put in a 6cell pack and the trinity motor..figured out the reason for the steering problem i am having.. launch power so high the wheels in front have only a passing familiarity with the carpet..my steering servo has done just fine..have had to shorten the antenna tube 2x as it continues to break..will need another one soon..the bearings also a very nice fit took care of a little rear wheel slop i had..wish i had seen the $35 6cell and wall wart style charger before i bought a seperate charger and battery pack at my lhs..still a fine deal..bc get yourself a 6cell and then tell us what you think

How much faster does it go with just the 6 cell pack? With the 6 cell and trinity motor?

with just the 6 cell i was as excited as dr frankenstein
IT IS ALIVE!!
the difference is amazing. i wish losi had not even bothered with the 4batt aa pack it is useless. if the truck is not getting at least 7.2v it feels sluggish.
the monster motor doesnt seem to have much more top end with the stock pinion..but it has a lot of torque..able to mount the largest pinion in the 3pack for more topend or the smallest pinion to get insane acceleration off the line. thats how i usually goof of with it, with the small pinion. i am willing to bet there are better motors out there than the trinity but it is what was handy and my lhs did not want too much for it..if you get the trinity motor check the solder joint on the outside of the motor can. on mine the assembler did not sand off the paint before soldering..it came off in the tube..my lhs just resoldered it for me right on the spot..very nice of them as my soldering is only slightly better than whoever assembles xmods for ratshack.btw bc did you notice how small and self contained the electronics on the mini t are? it sure would be nice if someone could fit those goodies into an xmod..fully propo steering and speed, better range, and with the right batts a huge surge off the line..did i mention the combo reciever/esc unit books at $49.99? but i digress..the battpack is a must have the pinion set is very useful (part# losb 1069) the bearings are also a good idea (part#losb 1100) and the trinity monster motor seems ok. part# tri11990)

Thanks for the response. I guess I have no choice than to get the battery pack. I will hold off on the motor until I can get the oil dampened shock next month when they are supposed to be released.

i have a mini t now - i ran it once with the 4aa holder, and went right to a 6 cell KAN 1050 pack. its right nice with 6, almost too fast in most smaller areas. as for servo issues, i will be switching to a hitec 55 servo - you have to remove the outer gear from the losi servo and stick it in the hitec. all the people at my LHS have done it so they can run their radios. i have also read about HS81 and 85 fitting but a little dremeling is required. id like to get another micro RS4 dual link steering kit and use the servo saver from that with the 81 and get that to work, as i like metal gears better than plastic.
quite a few have broken here (we have a large tabletop jump on the track at the LHS) and are waiting parts. no parts makes for no fun.
