Fujimi civic type r...does it fit?

Has anyone made the fujimi civic type r either 99 or 2001-2002 model fit on an Xmod, bc this is one of my all time favorite cars. I plan on trying it but i have heard people running into trouble with the 1/24th scale bodies, any tips? Also if someone has done it please post a type of do it yourself article on how to make it fit, or i will buy the model and mail it to someone if they can make it work..that is how bad i want this on my xmod!

Hey Deecee,

I heard that the wheel base is to long on the 1/24 models. so that means that you would have to shorten the body itself. but if ever get that done, I would like to see!!! btw way, send some pics and i will show you where to cut and fuse them together. If I get free time, and no one else has done your car, i will do it for you...

i dont have the model yet but if you could just explain where to cut it that would be cool. Is it where the hood starts at the windshield, and very close to the back part of the front wheel well, that would take off like 1/4 of an inch. And you said fuse together, wouldnt super glue work? or is there some kind of other way that you are talking about. i also figured that if i have to cut the front and it doesnt turn out right then i could just use a civic xmod body and cut off the back section and use only the back section of the model civic hatch, and glue them together then i would atleast have the hatchback part. tell me if you think this idea will work or is one wider than the other. also do alot of people use like modeling putty to form the bodies back together that they need to cut. ive done a ton of models but never had to shorten or lenghten any. thanks for the help

Deecee2,

Sounds like you are on the right track. For me, I want the Ford focus. So i am planning to cut it int 4 pieces to make it look a little more poportional. But, that is just me. On your fujimi civic, I will look for some pics, so i get a better idea on the actual car and se where to cut.

btw, I fuse my bodies together by using saudering strips. Super glue will work reallt well, just without putting much work in to it.
