You can change your spring rates, though you could just buy the springs for a mini-z and fit them on. You also get new shocks with steel pins instead of plastic. They spring more smoothly, but I feel they rebound quicker too. There is a special characteristic to plastic friction shocks, and I'm not going to knock them since they don't bind. IMO I like the new shocks but don't find that they are functionally superior.
My mini-z's stock king pins would bind, making the stainless steel king pin upgrade worthy. IMO you don't need the shocks, and if you want to change your spring rate you can buy just springs somewhere else, or try pulling some out of a pen.

How wide is your turning radius? Mine seems to be fairly large.

The way I think of spring rate is the force and speed of the springs in action, and damping as how long it takes to return to normal.

Just found out that the mini z springs may be too short, unless you use the longer type.

1. only bigger if you install something wrong or dont lube the differential
2. it makes it easier to drift

ALOT of people are using them and from what ive heard they have so much torque that you have to glue the back wheels on or they wil fly off.
