MegaTech motor

Ok so as a few of you might remember I ordered a megatech motor before I thought about it entirley. So it arrived the next day I got a Pinnion puller and Pinnion Press. I figured hey what the heck. So I hooked up a connector to the motor poped it into a car and let it run a good 10-12 mins streight 0 Issues execpt that smell of Ozone I remember so well from my little Tyco slot car days. so Step one passed. I pressed a 10 tooth pinion onto the motor tonight and poped it into my 6 cell mod skyline. This thing runs like a creazy person on fire. Same smell of Ozone.

Ok that said People DO not buy one of these moters I have not fully tested this setup. Also I did some prework on the electronics that I will detail now. if you dismantale the exectronics package by removing all the screws from the bottom you can remove the servo speed controll and reciever unit. on the botton you will see 2 small Transistors I think these are what people are refering to wen they speek about thr FET's they have heet sink grese on them and they are pressed onto a aluninum heet sink. I used artic silver heet sink epoxy to perminaly attach them to the heet sink. I will now explane why. This is myn theory these small transsistors are simmular to a computers CPU and most of you know a CPU needs to stay cool to run properly. Also as some of you may know reducing the temp of a CPU will allow you to run more voltage into them this is commonly known as overclocking. So if high end moters require more voltage to run through these small transsistors and they need to stay cool to run. It would seem to me Increasing the amount of connection that they have with the heet sink will allow them to cool more effecintly and inturn be able to handle more voltage. this is all in thory so it seems to be working I will give it a more endurance test run as soon as I can. If this all works I will post a video of it racing against a stock x-mod running the same tooth stage 2 motor for some comparrson.

Now to try to answer some questions that will come up. No I did not change the fets in any way execpt to use the Artic silver on them. I did not change the heatsink in any way its stock. I am not using any type of Fet uprade kit such as a turbo or any outside speed or voltage controller. and last I can think of This is what I would consider a Gen 1 X-mod skyline model that never had any issues. It has the high sitting crystal and did have plastic back DogBones that are now metal. I welcome any questions thanks for reading.

The dogbones are the cup-like things that the knuckles go into, right?
