if you wire them in parallel, you shouldn't have to, but you may want to charge it twice in a row. If you wire them in series, then you won't be able to fully charge them (I.E. up to 24 volts) but either way it'll still increase the amperage, which is where the ZZ's are hurting compared to the bits.
If you wire them in series you'll have to find a way to put about 4 volts (I believe) across the charging terminals.

I may be wrong(i dont think i am though) but if u wire them in a series u are gonna fry the board cuz its twice the voltage it was ment for.

Ummmm...
Wired in Series = Higher voltage, more power to the Motor and faster.
Wired in Parallel = Higher Amp, more current and longer runtimes.
There's a reason why they call the dual-battery mode the 2.4v mod as well.

headhunter555,
Nope, this board can take a ton more than the 1.2v stock. I was running it off of a 9v for a couple minutes with no problems at all. Voltage is the key to hotrodding the ZZs.

thanx for every thing i had to put my son to bed and come back to a plentiful supply of answers now one ? again i found there is plent room for three batteries aso let me run this by you all
three in a series= 3.6v right so is that three times the charge and i did that 9volt batt man it would kick road if we could get nine volts in a smaller package any i am not scared of frying it so should i go to the shaq and get the same stock battery ni-mh
love this forum tons of great info

Can someone explain the difference between wireed in parallel and series?
Thanks

ok parrallow, is when u wire Red to red and black to black, this way the voltage is the same wether u have 1 battery or 2, BUT with 2 batterys wired this way the run time will double.
In a series is when u wire the possitive of one battery to the negitive of the other battery and then the remaining possitive to the hot and the remaining negitive to the ground of the board. This will mean havng the same runtime, but double the power to the motor, wicth mean the car will be almost twice as fast.
if that does not make sence lmk ll try to explain it better.

Parallel:
you get the same voltage, 1.2V even though 2 batteries are there, but it cranks a LOT more amps, it doubles the amperage output, this is where the Zip Zaps are really lacking.
Serial:
This ups the amps a little too, but not as much as parallel would. more importantly, it DOUBLES the voltage. If each of those batteries in the serial pic were 1.2Volt cells, the circuit would be getting 2.4 volts.
get it?

Here's another look...As the rule of thumb, add volts in Series, add amps in Parallel.
