Anybody use AWD rear LSD on their RWD car?
I know decoy over on Micro RC Center suggested that the LSD on the AWD kit is a hinderance, so I wondered if anybody just tried it on their RWD setup? I'm curious b/c I'm building a drift machine & I'm wondering if it will help any?
thanks

Original diff
If you use the original differential in the rear it will give you full power to all tires. If you use the one that comes with the kit it will slip so that most of the power goes to the front. The front differential is the same as the original rear one.

it doesnt' slip that much but then again, it's not gonna let you spin your tires either. great for carpet when one wheel breaks loose and you're stuck since it resists the two wheels slipping from each other

I actually set mine up with the ball diff up front and the standard gear diff in the rear. That gives me AWD, but with the bias set more to the rear, which is how I like it.
BTW, I figured out a way to make the gear diffs a true limited slip. I'll post that in its own thread so it doesn't get missed...

That's not a "real diff". That's called a welded diff or a spool. Gluing the diff is both unnecessary and permanent. Using the grease method that I describe here:
http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...threadid=15211
...allows you to have a true limited slip differential. You don't want a completely locked diff unless you are drag racing exclusively.
