I bought one today (i wanted to check one out before buying one for my son for xmas

). Installed the batteries, turned it on and the steering went hard over to the left and wouldnt budge.
So being the type that hates to return stuff I took it apart. What I found was a poor soldering job on the steering servo. One wire was broken off inside the heatshrink at the servo end of the wire (orange one). Also the wires were extremely short so the servo could barely be removed from the chassis.
To fix it I got some servo wire that was the same gauge (looks like 24 or more likely 26 awg) and replace all three wires. I made them a little longer but not much (added maybe 1/2 to 3/4 in). Reassembled the car and it works great now.
This was relatively simple to do but you need good soldering skills and a very small tip/wattage iron (15 watts was what I used).
I was wondering if any one found similar problems.
