x mods suck...so....
after wasting my cash on a lame x mod and discovering it has a loooong way to go to become half of what a mini z is...I decided to rip it apart and use the only part that was worth a crap on my miniz...the body. the supra body fits my mini z just fine after extending the wheelbase, cutting out the old rear mount and adding the side mounts that mini z's use...I will get some better wheels for it and it is being repainted right now thats why it's stripped in these pics...here's a pic or two.

hmmm...
mostly the electronics.I mean you DO get what you pay for but come on...radio shack had better get used to the things getting returned thats for sure. the steering didn't have a very big radius...it killed the batteries twice as fast as the mini z...wasn't fast (at least not compared to my mini z) I really just liked the fact that the body kits were interchangable...but hell, they are on my mini z now...hehe...it's the best of both worlds I think. hell radio shack couldn't even provide SEALED bearings...they don't have to be THAT cheap. they charged $20 for them too. they know people are going to be driving these things outside...and those unsealed bearings wont last very long at all. I will stick with my mini z. I drive the x mod, then drive my mini z...and I can FEEL the difference in quality just by driving them. like I said tho, you get what you pay for right. in this case it isn't very much. I would have gladly payed $100 for the xmod if they had used better quality components and they still could have sold them for less than the mini z. they will have to make a few improvements if they want to step into the ring with kyosho's mini z.

I live near the CP Mini Raceway + Hobby in Clifton Park(from the Mini-Z Cup) and there is a Radio Shack in the mall nearby. So, I went to Radio Shack to get some LEDs and things for my Zip Zap. This guy there was playing with an X-Mod and had to help a customer, so he gave the thing to me. IT SUCKED! On high gear, the thing was half as fast as a Mini-Z. Plus, the radio was wicked uncomfortable. I couldn't even push the trigger all the way into reverse without moving my hand. It was so cheesy. SWEET BODY!

well she's painted! lol...after it has dried real good I will tape it up and paint the windows black...then rub it out with some rubbing compound and it will really shine! then I will paint all the details ( lights, intake holes, tail lights and stuff) by hand with a brush and re install the light lenses... oh, this is graphite metallic paint.

Can you show some pics of the body mods that you used to mount the shell on your Z?

Sweet, if my little brother gets one and isn't happy with it, I'll use his!!! By the way, if you want some tuned metal clips, miniraceway.com has some(that is the site for CP Mini Raceway+Hobby).

That looks really awesome! WOOT! lol Now get one of those GPM turbo exhausts for the Z, or one out of a model kit.
