AWD kit question

When installing the AWD kit are you supposed to put some of the grease it comes with inside the differential? It doesn't say anything about it in the instructions. I'm asking because I noticed today that when I go fast in reverse and then jam it forward the front wheels slip a little, but the rear wheels keep turning in reverse until the front wheels get enough grip to make it go forward. I even went so far as to remove the bevel gear in the front and you can hear the motor spin up, but it moves very slowly. My brother put a dab in his and it works great, but I don't want to do it if it won't help. Should I return my AWD kit?

When I installed my RSX's AWD I did put a small amount of grease in both diffs just to help lube it and prolong its life but I may try this oil that RS sells that is not supposed to attract dust(yeah right) but I do have it and will try it asap when I do the final assembly of my supra.
