Exclamation How To Get Started In This......

what would be a good way to start into this? i have a 1/87 scale rr (modeled to be like southern germany in preasent day) and am very interested in this. i think it would be fun to have a truck to drive around the military base i have on it. i am open to any price range (i have already put over 1000 usd into this) and would like to get started into this.......please let me know how you can help.

thanks!

firstly welcome and hope you have fun looking at our trucks

well first thing is to grab a BIG cup of coffee and some choccy biscuits, sit comfy and read all the posts about the trucks we make and follow the links to the sites we get our parts(i live in england so i have to get my parts from germany)
this will give you an insight into whats entailed in making these little trucks, they are not cheap to make nor are they for beginners to make but with a little skill and lots of patience you can make one.

do you want to make one yourself boris or do you want to buy one ready made(or even in kit form)

well you could start with a roco 5t MAN ,they are perfect for a first truck, they look good, come with real rubber treaded tyres and have plenty of room for all the electronics,i would recomend you start with one of these.
make it 2wd and they are very releable, mine has done about 60 hours runtime with no problems whatsoever

the last truck i made was a 1 tonne landrover, about thalf the size of the man, whilst its nice to look at and drive,it does suffer on the downhill sections as its got a very short wheelbase, out of them all i just love the roco MAN 5t,it just oozes offroad
