lap counter

Hi! I´m interested in an lap counting system. Anyone an idea? It should be cheap and ready to run.

For personal use or for multiple cars?

A personal lap counter would be enough. But later we want a counter for 3 or more cars. Maybe there is a modular system?

I have seen many optical systems. But I hate that part with "attach something to your cars antenna" and those towers of infrared lights aren´t my ideal of lap counting.
