Unhappy Trouble with new Lxx type R

Hey all, I know there are some really smart people on here, not to mention a lot that have had experience with trial and error, so i figured it'd be worth a shot to ask a question here. i recently purchased an Lxx Type R 35 mhz Zent Supra set from toyeast... it worked great up until...well...it stopped working. Anyways, my problem is is its range suddenly shot down out of nowhere from 10 feet to about six inches. I don't know if there is a crip cap anywhere on these pcbs or the controllers, and i even replaced the stock car antenna with a new solid copper one, and still i got nothing. I've checked for the most obvious mistakes, and I haven't messed with the board other than desoldering/soldering in the new antenna. has anybody else had a problem like that from they're Lxx Type Rs? Or perhaps somebody might know some things off the top of their head that could be the problem. The other two Lxx's <both type Rs> i purchased from them work fine. Could i possibly have recieved a defective one? If you guys think so, i'm pretty sure i can still return it...i've only had it for two days. Anyways, any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. Thx, you guys rock.

I should be getting mine in a few days (maybe today, it's the Denso Supra) and I'll post whether I have problems, but it sounds like yours is defective. Email toyeast (they make the LXX's)
and see what they'll do about it. For future reference see my thread LXX Type-R.

You might want to open the transmitter and check to make sure the antenna is still connected properly. There was a problem with one of mine once. It was because the connection from the circuit board to the antenna had come loose.

Check to make sure the antenna on the car isn't touching other metal parts, like the heat sink.

Other than that, I would say that if it worked once, then it should work again, unless you fried it somehow.

Hey vtheo, is there an online site that I can find the motorworks cars and stuff?

Thanks guys, I'll open up my transmitter tonight to double check. I made sure nothing was touching the antenna, no go. I have hope though, as my old microsizer skyline did somethin like this a while back. stopped working, i got mad at it and cut off the top...then my little brother touched it and it worked again...so is the story of how my drop top skyline came to be. But thanks again, i'll be emailing toyeast to see if we can send it back and see about a replacement. Microspeed keep me posted on your denso supra. I hope i just got a bad one for everyone else's sake. O and check out my posts in micro's Lxx type-r thread to hear about my mad range boost! Anything that simple is worth a shot!

well i have a few 49mhz remotes, all have the same prob with the car, i redid my solder job and add some more, a little to much now, i have a solder bridge between the resitor right next to the antenna spot, i think that was my prob to begin with, know just to figure out a way to remove that solder...
