ZZSE question

The new ZZSEs are coming out soon and I was wondering how the proportional steering was accomplished. Does anybody know?

Does it work like a digi-q/takara, with two motors in the back and no actual turning system in the front?

I dont think they'd want to do it that way because "real working steering" was one of the things they incorporated into the original
For a 'cool factor' They problably use a servo, like the puchi-maru,
dont know where they'd find a cheap servo tho

I have no info on how they're doing the steering, but if you look at this thread
http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...threadid=12013
There were some ideas thrown around about how the steering could be done.

proportional steering is gonna be the hit or miss of the ZZse.......but the shells are going to be interchangeable(sp), so even if steering sucks.......ill just use the current ZZ chassis

my best guess is that they will use the same steering setup, but instead of the coils and magnet, they will put a motor to turn the front wheels, sorta like this motorcycle i got at TRU.......the motor drives the steering arm

i dunno.....but as everyone says, propo steering is good for drifting! And also, let's hope they have a turbo button function. That would be nice, like NOS for your ZZ.

Most likely it will be motor driven. There's no reason for it to be anything else, because it would be too complex.

maybe they'll use a 1.0 motor like tomy did in that diecast propo bit. hmm, maybe that's y they pulled the blue 1.0 motor, to save stock for use as steering! and, if it really is jsut using the 1.0 motor, we could swap in a green 1.6 motor and get some quicker steering out of it. or maybe upgrade the mosfets for the steering to make teh steerign nice and strong

i think these things will be big just like the first ones were but these will be better...i wanna see zipzap start cranking out the high rpm motors

Well, since we're throwing guesses out for how the Propo will be handled.

My guess is they took the basic priciples from these guys:
http://www.rcmicroflight.com/nov99/technik_servo.asp

And found a cheaper way to do it.

bike steering that is propo would be different than car steering that is propo, on the bike the motor turns a dial with a peg that turns the axels, well with the car you would need individual arms for the each front tire, and a motor that turns a slider so you can turn evenly and with the way the bike is set up, i dont think it would work in a car
