try it, paint is better than sharpie(thats what i used with my 1st car), and that just rubs off with wear.

Hi, I am gettin some extra wheel sets and I am going to try on some different wheels, I have the same paint as micros2000, and also an enamel spray paint black. It would be great to find some more ideas on how to prep the chrome wheels for paint, my idea is to put sand in a small container and rotate the wheel in it to get a little better surface to paint,,, but this may be overkill LOL

From what I understand, the chrome plating just melts off. So if you use a heat source (lighter, match, soldering iron, etc.) it should just fall right off. Just be careful that you don't overheat the rims themselves.

use primer before you paint, it will stick to the chrome.

i think the denso car set comes with an extra set of the red wheels. or just the red wheels...i thought i saw that somewhere. i dunno, maybe it was my imagination. and from what murcielago 659 said, wouldnt that warp or melt the wheels? i dont think that is a good idea...plastic isnt durable when heat is involved.
