I have done the unthinkable!
I have forced nine volts through a 3.0 bit motor! I was smart enough to not send it through the bit itself! The motor screams! It still works too! I was trying to make a hovercraft!

he said he just put it direct to the motor, it didnt go through the pcb

so u put a 9 volt battery on the top of ur car and hooked it up to the motor?

so u didnt even put it in the chassis? Ohh
u just touched the motor to the batt, i did that once, but if u keep it on for like over 20 seconds ull smell something burning, and the motor will burn out.

That happens to be a great way to break up particles of trash/dirt cought in the motor. It can revive some dead motors. Just don't overdo it.

i hooked 4 cells to my pcb board, ran the little sucker with a 1.6. It had so much torque, it pushed back 4 bits (all stock) that were driving into it. but after about 10 seconds of it, the board got burned out. so, there goes a pcb board.

i ran 9v through a zz 2.1 and it was fine for like 5seconds but after that the more 9v i put into it the slower in got till it didnt move ohh wellw

that sucks. when you fried the PCB on your other car did it melt? was there any smoke coming out of the car?

nothing melted too much, the little black diode thing going to the forward wire was a melted plastic bubble. its about the size of a bb now.
