I hate steering coils
Ok, I have 2 motorworks...I broke the steering coils on both of them. Lucky for me, I had a scrap car with 2 coils in it, so I took em off and put em on the motorworks, but they won't work!!! I've tried scraping the enamel off, burning it off the tips, nothing is working. Does anyone know what's wrong?

if you damaged any, i mean any at all of the coils wire (like any of the 6ft of it) it wont work. Mka esure there soldered to the board correctly. The best way to extract the steering coils from whatever is to pur the steering coils in pretty hot water (about 160 - 180 degrees F) and wait about 10 minutes, then use a razor or thin object and put it behind the steering coil, if it doesnt seem to come off, soak some more in hot water.

Thanks for the info Ovgron- very helpful. This means that I've probably destroyed about 5 steering coils by now! Oh well, looks like I'll have some fun getting or making more.
