Engines
Hey I'm new here and pretty much intermediate with the lil r/c's (been playing with them for quite a while), but i was wandering what would be the engine with the highest performance stats, besides the fast and furious upgrades??? if u could please give me the rpm stats of each...thanx

The highest rpm engine (confirmed) is a 3.8. There are many types of 3.8s. There is a new 4.0 out but if it is truly a 4.0 and any better than the 3.8s is still up in the air. I recomend the new zz 2.8 (?) that comes in the F&F kit. This just might be my new favorite motor. It is well rounded, great torque and top speed.
Welcome to tiny.

It's in the new F&F kit that comes with the spyder and evo bodies, 2 motors and the 3 gears. It was just released so you should be able to score one. You could order it from 1 800 the shack by using the product #, sorry I don't know it off the top of my head. If you look through the threads here you'll see plenty of talk about the kit.
Good luck.

The answer to that question is a rather long one so I'm gonna shorten it down. Buy yourself a 350z starter and you should be good to go. The rest are still hit and miss. I don't have and won't be buying a F&F starter kit so I don't know about them.

Actually, there is a 2.8 motor as well as a 3.4 in that kit. the 2.8 is the racing motor, while the 3.4 is the NOS motor.

2.8 is still my fave motor....fast but controllable....if i can get my suspension to maintain through a turn with the new nos motor, then i would love it even more, but i flip like a madman when i turn.

Have you guys noticed that the 3.4 motor takes a while to get to top speed, because with mine it doesnt move for like 5 seconds and then it begins to move.
Is this normal?

I haven't noticed any problems like that, and I have been using the red gears. Maybe you have an older PCB?

i don't have that problem either.....haven't tried it in my older stock zip chassis... it does work in my pt cruise chassis with the no reverse mod tho. but i would agree it sounds like you may have the older pcb...if not youve got a problem somewhere
