charging problems
ok, i just got a brand calsonic digi-q id 4, i am charging it correctly,
1.turn car off
2.turn controller on
3.put car on charger
4.wait for led to go red
5.wait for led to go green
6.take off controller, and turn car on
7.set it to correct frequency
8.then i thought you have to take it off, when the led goes green, when i do it moves for like 4 seconds, and that's it, i have tried charging it and leaving it on for ages even while the led is green, i've put it on charge for 10-20 minutes at a time, and it doesn't make a difference it still runs for a very short time, can someone please help
thanks, from a person that has absolutely no idea

Your procedure looks proper...Have you checked the wheels to make sure there's nothing obstructing it (like dust or hair) from running properly?

yes i have, there is no dust or hair on the wheels, does it go red after it goes green, and that indicates a full charge?, the problem is i have waited over half an hour and the green led doesn't change to red

Nope, red means charging...Green means full charge. It'll stay green until you take it off.
- From how far away are you trying to drive the car? Maybe you're out of range.
- Try holding the Q, upside-down, then point the remote at it from a few inches away and hit the trigger. Does it work then?

no, that doesn't work either, i think it is faulty, when i try to start it now, i can't get it working, i opened it up to see if everything was in order, but nothing changed, i'm not sure but i think it's the controller that has the problem, when it's on the charge it goes from a few red blinks to green in approx 5 seconds, does the blinking mean anything?, i'll have to find another one, so i can test it, i guess it's just tough luck, thanks for your help namuna

Yup, I agree. Put ALL fresh cells in that controller. The controllers have circuitry that will halt the charging if the batteries can't handle a steady charge rate....Even if just one of the batteries is drained this can happen.
Put fresh alkalines (or even NiMH batts) in your controller and see what happens.
Good luck.

you must have been right, i think the new batteries did it, the weird thing was, the controller was on, and seemed as if it was working, thanks for all your help, now we know when the red light flashes, the batteries aren't good enough

I just got mine today and took it for a test run! AWESOME!! I like the variable rate accelleration! That's something the Char-G's are so missing. The controller is also great. Wow! My question is, I charged it until the light went green, then thought it was dead until I found the "on" switch (DOH!) and it ran for about 5 minutes until the batts were drained. I did run it full-boar most of the time, but, I thought these had a longer run time? Hmmm... What's the typical "hard run" run time?
