there's no comparison in my mind, spend the xtra $10 or whatever and get the spec 2. it's got the updated hardware and is faster out of the box, plus 4 cell and 5 cell upgrades are possible. there aren't many "technical" upgrades to do at this point for either one, but in the future i can only imagine that they will support spec 2's... just a speculation *shrug.
you won't regret it they're hella fun!

Okay but can you rewind the motors? If you could that would be awesome!

Or thatI can do! I have resoldered at least 6 steering wires so soldering isn't a prob.!

You can buy the springs and tires and pretty much anything else from:
http://www.apexrc-racing.com/
Or:
http://www.intrepidrc.com/
Yes the springs help handling tons. I don't know about the tires yet, I will get mine in this weekend.

I've got the foam tires on mine now, and they really hook up MUCH better than the stock tires did.
I've also got a stabilizer kit with 3 stabilzers, where do those go? The japanese directions do *nothing* for me, lol

what is HLJ? hobby link japan?
I got my epoch chassis with tires, rims, & stabilizers sets via eBay, but once I opened the package I saw a ton of other things to buy, I just can't read any of it. What I'd like is the light kit, 5 spoke rims, and one of the lexan bodies...

Hey, can you give me a little more detail on the foam tires? Do you have to glue them on? Do they help keep the car from flipping? Where did you get them and how much were they?
Does HLJ sell Epoch parts?

the foam tires on the rear need to be double sided taped to the rims, the tire + rim kit that I got came with that tape, pretty simple to do. It came with more tape for the front but mine haven't popped off or moved at all so I didn't bother (yet)
I don't know a price because it came with my car, but the part # is:
RM-ST05 - then some japanese characters, then it says "Spec-2"
the bag also has a red "A" sticker on it, it came with foam tires, tire tape, and a set of black subaru rims.
I'll take a pic of the tires/rims on my WRX if you want me to.
