A traditional dual cell is better than a layman's dual cell. I've heard that a layman's tricell has been beaten by a normal dual cell. I have both batteries and they are both extremely fast. Layman's version gives you only 30 seconds of super fast speed on a Bit Char-G then slows down. On a Zipzap, it's fast the whole time.

The layman's is lighter, and it looks stock. The run time is real short compared to the others, though.

so overall a dual cell nimh batter mod can beat a tri cell laymans mod both speed wise and run time wise?damn laymans mod only gives you 30 seconds of turbo speed then slows down? how long duz the turbo last for a dual nimh battery? also which takes longer to charge?

3.6V is faster than 2.4V no matter what (unless you use like a 3.8 motor or something). The Layman's mod, with two or three cells, will charge faster because the total stored energy in them is less than what you would get with two "full size" cells. Get it?

yea but which would last longer a tri cell laymans with twin 3.8 motord or a 2.6 dual nimh (200 mah batts release 1.3 each) with twin 3.8 motors both with a 3:43 gear set and 7 tooth pinior gear.

If you use NICD's, it'll be a bit punchier. More off the line. I use 3 nimh because that's what I had laying around. I would go with 3 of the nicd's. If you're doing a bit, I'd use 2. I have 3 in my Zap with a Bit booster PCB, but it's hard to get 3 in a bit and still have decent center of gravity.

two nimh are more than enough to make your car flip without even trying.
my best dual cell has 100mah nimh and i get 15+minutes of solid runtime.

It all depends on the guy's set-up. I run 3xnimh in the chassis with the booster pcb. Boosted it will flip, but unboosted it's fine. I love the top end though.
Hey pigman, when ya mail me some of those pullback wheels?
