I'm picking up one of those on monday (hopefully) if my walmart doesn't have em i'm gonna be SO PO'ED!!!
I'm getting the Jr one. I like red & black too much...I'll just take the fake sponsor stickers off & try to get some real ones. I would get a Dale Earnhardt one too but I know i'd open it & at $20 a piece I don't want to burn ALL my money (unless i actually get some for my b-day )

Finally got one today. DE Legacy, black. Its pretty fast but I think my floors are too slick as it kept on pushing the limits without spinning out (wide turning radius ) I really like the pop-out charger, but it does take some effort to get it properly positioned on the charger.
Overall- 8.5/10 pretty cool, very low as stock, full length wheelbase , needs stickier rear tires

I have yet to get these things to spin even on a slick floor. They DO have some nice deep treads on the tires.

I've noticed some spinning on take off. Nothing major and kinda cool. This is on lenoleum. The car I have will definately spin thye rears when hitting the forward control. It hooks up quickly though and moves fast. The turning radius is kind of wide. But, full forward combined with a turn and throwing it in reverse does a nice slide around and gets you going in the opposite direction like turning on a dime. I have also run into problems with getting the thing on the charger, but seem to get it on there easier with a little practice. I like the charger/controller configuration. Very original and I think it's MW way of eliminating all those batteries they needed for the earlier cars. Overall, I like this thing alot. It has great modding potential, is very fast out of the box, and is smooth operating.

I played with one today...Really dislike the wide radius turing...Ah5hit you know how to make them turn like a zipzap? how?
Didn't have enough money (You'd think it being 2 days after my b-day i could afford somthing more than $10!) Whats the DE legacy look like? I probably know its just theres a few tribute cars...The ones Dale Jr. ran...the non-racing (no numbers...just logos)
I saw the DE racing version today along with Jarret & Dale Jr (the one I played with)

How do I get them to turn like a Zip? I don't. They DO have a wider turning radius. The only time it spins is if I turn from a take-off.

I have bad memory...I've probably seen it though
This car comes to mind
Now that car WOULD be fine with me if they slapped a big #3 on the sides where the DEI logo is

first drive
I just picked one if these up today, and everyone on this board seems to like them a whole bunch...but I gotta say, I'm not very impressed. I had high hopes for smooth handling, and wider controlled turning, but no matter the surface, it just isn't there. They handle like a Zip without suspension bars. Not at all smooth, but rather gripping and turning sharp one second, then slipping and turning wide, then gripping...you get the idea. The rear end even tries to come around once in awhile, but when it does, it hops like crazy, the car looses speed, and it drives just plain silly. The steering also seemed sluggish when coming out of a turn. The bodies, although closer to scale, are just too skinny, too long, or both...I'm not sure which. They are however FAST, and I like the chasis layout.
One interesting thing to note is that my car doesn't have any spacer on the rear axle, opposite the idler gear. The rear tire will actually rub on the idler gear spindle when it moves side to side. With no spacer, there is enough play in the axle for it to shift a little, thus, rubbing can occur. I'm interested if anyone else has noticed this.
