this would be so scary!!!!!!!!!!

If somebody installed a 4.0 motor (which can be bought at rcmod.com) and 1:1 ratio gears, then the car would go at a speed of an ACTUAL 70 MPH!!!!! and that's NOT the scale speed.......ouch!!!!

Here's how I found out the speed:

Motor rpm/gear ratio= wheel rpm
wheel rpm x wheel circumference=distance per minute(cm)
distance per min in cm / 2.54 = inches per min
inches per min/12= feet per min
feet per min x 60 = feet per hour
feet per hour / 5,280= actual miles per hour
actual mph x 64 ( I did this for zipzaps) scale mph

sweet, no???

i can see your new here so ill take it easy on u. Even logic would tell you that is not possible. i know you think it is but its not. no torque and it would take forever to get the wheels spinning. you would have to fabricate a whole new gearing system. HOW THE H%^$ CAN YOU HAVE A 1:1 GEAR RATIO? its immpossible.(unless you had like 10to10) but still NO just think about what you just said and i think you will realize you should have said that BS. Fast cars are cool but but dont think of stupid things.

If that was takin' it easy, I don't wanna see you lash out. LOL

You could do a 1:1 gear ratio if you did a belt drive and changed the axle gear to whatever pully or gear you put on the motor in place of the pinion gear. 10:10 is the same as 1:1. It's not the number of teeth, it's a ratio. I'm sure you already know that, but I just didn't understand the 10:10 thing you posted.

Anyway, yeah I hear the 4.0 motor sux and has no torque. It probably wouldn't even run with a decent clone motor because there's no way to push it to 4.0. No torque.

Hey umm... new guy, the fastest Zip I have ever heard of is 11mph. I have not seen it because he won't post video's. I do believe him though, cause mine goes 10 mph with the blue gears. You NEED torque to get that top speed. My 10mph car is running a clone 3.0. You see, it's not the numbers, it's the way you set up the power source (cells) and gearing.

ya
what i meant by 10:10 is you have 10 teeth on the pinion (you would have to make it) and 10 teeth on the axle gear (you would have to make that too.) its not a 10 to 10 ratio i just meant 10 teeth to 10 teeth
but anyways a pulley system would be pretty hard also. Think about it...you would have to some how get a anti-slip belt that would drive the motor to the axle and BY THE WAY i noticed the axle is like 2 times the diameter of the motor armature pin.

the 4.0 is 40 000 rpm undewr no load that doesnt mean it will be 40 000 rpm when it is running in the car ! Therefore there is no way it woulkd be 70 km or miles or w/e

Well, since YOU'RE obviously new as well, I'll go easy on you too. So just consider this a warning.

4.0 is 40,000 rpm. but even if u get the car goign and heading for its top speed, it'll struggle to reach that 40,000 rpm cuz in the real world, the weight of the car, rotating mass of the wheels, wind resistance and friction will keep it from reaching the 40,000 rpm redline. to even get near the redline, u'll probably want to dual or tri cell it to get enough power to push it to that speed but that means more weight and less likelyhood to reach the 40,000 rpm so i'm guessing that if u can get it going with a 1 to 1 gear set, u'll probably max out around 50 to 60 mph on a flat level surface.....after a long wait to have it accelerate to that speed. it's kinda like trying to start a real car on 5th or 6th gear, it's very hard to get teh car moving

Actually, FastandFurious is kinda right....cars on the highway can go up to 60 mph, but my rc car wouldn't even last 2 seconds if it went that fast, so don't really take it out on FastandFurious...

I guess I'm behind the times, someone explain to me how that's NOT a belittling remark?

OK

look namuna lets just focus on the topic of this thread

SO JUST THE SUBJECT!!!!!

[Namuna Edit] Notice how I'm able to jump into your post and add this comment. That should tell you I'm a Moderator here (if you didn't already know).

Also notice how your title just changed to Banned. My job here on the forums is to keep things civil, it's a tedious job at times and if you think I'm going to take lip service from you for doing it...Well, you'd be wrong.

Take a week vacation to think about why it's a BAD IDEA to get nasty with a Moderator.
