Well, I've decided I'm going to go for it. So scared it will break.

ah just keep a steady hand and only touch the solder to the part you are working on and dont use big blobs of solder.
also maybe test it on something laying around the house that is broken. just solder random wires to random solder joints.

Wow. Thanks, xatu. I'm actually flattered since this is the place and you are the guys that I go to for most of my mod information.
Sorry to say, I don't have a tutorial or anything slick to post. The mod is pretty straight forward and just like any other 2-cell mod, though.
1. solder a wire from the negative terminal in the tub to the negative contact of battery1.
2. solder a wire from the positive contact of battery1 to the negative contact of battery2.
3. solder a wire from the positive contact of battery2 to the positive terminal in the tub.
4. stand 'em up in the tub and fit the pcb a little further back.
Sorry for the cruddy write up, but I'd be more than happy to explain anything or answer anyone's questions. Just fire me a PM.
Thanks!

It has too... There is no extra weight in the rear and you have to loose traction and your steering would have to be effected too.

Oh yeah, it affects the handling.
I expected it to handle decently because the car is pretty close to 50/50 weighting. It's just a tad more towards the front. Anyway, I was sure it would handle better than carrying an extra battery on the rear hatch.
It actually handles very similar to the conventional dual cell mod = it flips all the time. I think, but am not positive, the front weighting makes it dive and tuck into the turns. This is just magnified by the fact that we don't hve propo steering. A set of springs up there should help remedy the situation.
Now if only QFM would send me my order...
Oh yeah;
Traction isn't really a problem. The weight allocation isn't too far forward. The only issue is the dive/tuck problem.

i dont think its possible to stop any dual cell from flipping.
tomy springs dont work well. they are too stiff.
my tyco springs help a little but they are on the softer side.
my weight distribution is pretty good since one battery is in the original spot and i could put the other one just about anywhere between the steering screw and the motor well.

I tried both mods, and it's a tight fit. Snapped a couple wires too. Took a while to reattach them.

There IS a way to stop dual cell cars from flipping. You could always put harder tires on, or put little wings on the bottom of the car. They should stick out about a centimeter or two, and they will make the car tip a little, but it will not flip over all the way.
