thats a pretty time saving way to do a dual cell mod. no soldering required either. but does the body snap on if you have led lights on the front? cuz the battery for the led's stick right above the roof of my s2000 body.

Man that is pretty HACKED looking... I try to keep them at least looking like the stock almost if I was going to do the dual cell internal mod. You can fit 2 150 nimh batts in there with the pcb board flipped over and it almost looks stock.

this is a lot easier to do. you dont need to cut anything. also its easy maintenence if you need to open her up.

one is where the original battery was. the other is resting up against the front end. the pcb kinda goes over the two bats. its wired the same way as the normal "2nd battery over the rear" configuration.

I did a test fit with 2 batteries on a borken chassis and it seems to fit by putting the first battery in normally and the 2nd towards the front sitting up higher. Push the pcb back a little bit. This is like the first pic in this thread. I might be able to fit it better if I use the metal tabs from the batteries of the layman's dual cell batteries. I'll try it, but I'm kinda scared that I might snap the wires. It's hard to solder when the wires are so small and close together.

The way I did it, definitely fits and rx7 (and probably 99% of bit bodies). hog's looks like it fits pretty much everything, too.
An advantage I see to hog's way is that it keeps one bat low and back in the tub. The way I did it moves the weight forward and actually has a negative affect on handling.
Hog, how does your dual internal handle? I see you have springs on there, too. I haven't tested mine with springs, but it definitely needs 'em.
My conventional dual cell (external on the rear hatch) has springs and flips over WAY less than this internal dual.

yupp. bodies ive tested this on: gt-r and 2000gt-r, rx-7, supra, s2000, accord wagon, bb(of course).
the mach5 doesnt have enough room for this.

well it rarley wheelies this way but i still flip sometimes. it handles differently than my muscle car that did mad wheelies. i like both configurations. i dont like chopping the bodies apart tho.
