calling all mid-west
hey anyone that lives in or around the st.louis missouri area. i am looking for you i am trying to get a bunch of people together to have a compitition. if you might be interested in this let me know. looking for racers and showers. this is a just for fun event. so no cost to enter but on that same note no prizes to win eather. just the knowlege that you whooped up on everyone else. althoe that isnt set in stone. if we can get enough people that would be willing to pay to enter i would be willing to look into prizes.

Prob. best to try and persuade some local hobby shops that sell these things to setup a track. Commercial (or club) slot car track location would be good too. Of course, there would have to be enough local interest to make it worthwhile. I organized 12th and 10th scale RC racing for a few years at the club level. Lots of work, lots of grief. You have to try and please eveyone and work with virtually no budget as most all of the race proceedes went to rent whatever venue we were in. I enjoyed RC racing much more once I started going to commercial tracks run by a local hobby shop.
It's great to see ppl willing to setup a track and organize an event. It will be fun for awhile. But, it will burn you out eventually. I guess it is the nature of the beast that is competive racing. Some ppl will just take it far too seriously.

Ofallon mo. here. I'm new to the board and have never raced anyone yet but it would be cool after I build my chops.
