Zip zaps and bit bodies should be painted on the outside not the inside. Most larger lexan and even ho scale lexan cars lack the details of these bodies. The zip and bit bodies have lines and sideview mirrors that would stay clear if painted from the inside.(translucent) This would look pretty bad. The size of these bodies also makes them extremely hard to mask anything off on the inside. You could paint these anyway you want, inside or outside, whatever works for you, but the outside method produces better results IMO. To avoid scratches or chips you should always spray or apply a coat or two of clear coat. This will also give you a nice shine.
