Could you provide a link to the "electronic nos" thread? I think a dual cell is the easiest way to boost up the power of a zip.

Not really.
The booster cars only cut power when unboosted and then they're normal boosted. What boogerboy72, from my understanding, is looking for is a way to boost the full power of the car. The only way this can be done is by giving the motor more voltage.

that's not true. the booster car cuts power but when you boost it it goes faster than normal

Not in my experience. What tests have you done?

Edit- The 3.8 should be fine, but it will burn out faster than with a single cell car.

i've raced a normal one and a booster one at the same time. unboosted, it cuts voltage to like 0.8 or something and boosted uses most of the voltage that the battery can put out. so a 2.2 can run like a 2.6 whereas a normal one would run like a 2.2.

imo
the booster cuts the voltage to about 2/3 of normal then when u press the boost button it goes as fast as a normal, i could be wrong, but i only think it "seems" faster because it went sooo slow b4.
theres a thread somewhere about this

"Voltage:
Unboosted: 0.9v
Boost: 1.3v"

a normal car runs on 1.2v and the thing gives higher current when boosted.

The key sentence is this.
"So using the same Motor in both cars, it would be about the same SPEED but more 'punch' because of higher current."
Either way (cause I don't feel like arguing) I'm pretty sure this kid has a zip and wants to speed her up. Telling him to buy another car isn't being helpful.
