I dont see why it wouldn't work. you would just have to find a solar panel that puts out enough power. just imagine, a Bit that could run all day long!

When I was a kid, I tried to make a solar powered Stomper. I tried to wire the solar cell directly to the motor. I ended up covering the whole thing in solar cells just to get it barely moving. I realized a solar cell capable of produceing 1.5v would be way too large for a Stomper, BUT Bits use rechargeable batteries. It's totally feasible to have a large solar cell that would produce 3v, and you could charge your battery with it, and I'm sure solar cells have improved in the last 20 years.

This seems so feasible to me, it just got added to my "to do" list.

***just realized it wasn't the voltage that wouldn't drive the Stomper, as a solar calculator uses 1.5 volts. It was more than likely not putting out the Mah to drive the motor. That's why I think it's better to store up the energy, and the release it.

A solar charger would be fairly easy to build, since you wouldn't have to be worried as much about size and weight. Wire a few 3v cells in parallel to get the 300mAH you need to charge the bit batteries, and wire it to a bit charging stand. Free charging (after all the expense and time, of course)!
