Speed Camera Idea!!!!!

How about a speed camera ? It could flash twice like a real one! I Think it'd b kinda fun!

Mayb do it using IR or something, n with the right components,we could also make it speed adjustable?

This is unrelated to your post, but I figured I might as well tell u this after reading your signature.

Shen PCBs don't have the black blob, you can just screw with the chip and do whatever it was you wanted to do to your TOMY. There is another clone I found, really cheap, wheels were crap and the tires looked like they were flat, blue PCB cover, but this also has the exposed chip. Not having seen too many clones in detail or up close before, I'm not sure who else has this nonblobbed design, but figured I'd share what info I could offer.

In response to your post, I don't think it would really be worth the time and effort to get an exact speed for your bit. A better, cheaper way would be to time it over a stretch of ground. Or if you just wanted the effect, setup a hot shoe camera flash near the finish line or something and have it go off at a key time.

Didn't sound to me that he wanted a speed camera thing that actually took your speed, just something that flashed twice when you drove by it, giving the same effect. No reading, just FLASH...FLASH. That could be kind of cool. Best bet would be to go down to Radio Shack, and see what kind of sencing/triggering stuff they have. I can be done, I'm sure, but might be too expensive, depending how thee sencing is done.

I wanted just a simple flash flash camera.

It could be done using an infa red beam break circuit.

Or we could get fancy, and have it so that if the beam is broken and closed quickly, then it would flash, but I can b bothered to get out the 555 timers! lol

what do you mean? like a camera that goes off when a beam is broken? my friend fixes flash equipment for race car photographers. with a good quality flash box and camera you can stop the tires on a pic of a car going 200mph

No, what I mean is a camra that is placed by the sides of roads to detect speeding dirivers,it will flash u twice if u r,and ull get fined and licence will get point on it!

It would b fun 2 take the p!55 out of them!

Do a search for gatso speed camera, u ge them in uk, not sure about what u have in other countries!
