Unhappy I am so disapointed!

i have a microsizer i liked the way i drove i bougt a R-spec motor set of tires and set of gears and a 1.5 cell i was impressed by the results untill mi friend went to wallmart and got for 12 $ a micro clone that without lying is twice as farst and handles better than mine i also have a 3.8 and a 2.6 motor the car he bought haves wires to the motor the case is held by screws witch holds the motor at the same time no heat sink i haves a red LED ligth on top of the chip and a charg station separeted from the rc
now he got two cars one for his wife . thats 26$... I paid 27$ for the micro 5$ for the batt (2) of them, 6$ for a set of tires,6$ for a set of gears 11 $for the R-spec 9$ for the 3.8 and 9$ for the 2.6
grand total of 78$ thats without shipping just so a 12$ wallmart clone kicks my but thats liki buing a ferrari and getting beat by amini cooper

That's a little hard to believe. The motorworks car (aka walmart clone) is fast but about equal to a 2.2 with some added torque. You say you have the r-spec which is supposed to be equal to a 3.8. I have a 3.8 in my MS and the thing is insane. My motorworks car is nowhere near those speeds. I think maybe you got a bum motor. You should look into an exchange.

heres the thing microsizers arent built to prefection first. they are using a marketing campaign to get people more addicted if your car was perfect to start out with would it really be that fun if all you did was drive them come on and anyway yours will probably last longer alot of the clones that i have gotten the buttons on the controller get a little crappy and they stick or you press them and nothing happens belive me ur MS will last much longer and ull have more fun with it

The good part is that you have a car that you can change to however you want it. Your friend has a car that only does one thing, goes fast. All cars need tune-ups, and when his car needs one it'll be 10x harder for him than you. There are so many things you can do to compete with his speed, but there isn't very much your friend can do to compete with the car that you have. You can always go out and buy the same car that he's got, but i suggest that you play the waiting game. With time, his car will not perform like it used to, and he'll need to up grade it. While he's busy with his soldering iron, you'll be swapping motors and gears in seconds. This is where you'll see the benefits of owning a car like yours. You are suffering from what we call the (grass is greener syndrom), Don't worry, cause you've made the right choice. Stick with it and keep tinkering with your car and you'll see what I mean..... Hope this helps you....

MotorWorks is a great car! It's the PCB I have on my mod'd ZipZap. The handling is impressive and VERY unique. I agree it doesn't let the average joe mod it with different hop-ups, but for those with the time and skills, it's a great car to modify. What make Bits so great are the hop ups and information (mods) that can be found on the internet. They are and will always remain the leader. That being said, the MotorWorks clone is impressive. Tomy should be thankful MotorWorks (Bensu) doesn't have the hop-ups and the means to put them on like the Bits have. I think you'd find them to be the biggest competitor out there if they did. Bensu makes so many damn clones, you'd think they'd do this. My cannonballs, Sharper Image RC's and MotorWorks are all made by Bensu. I've seen atleast 3 others of their clones, but can't remember the names.

I don't like your analogy; You should've said "That's like buying a Ferrari and getting beat by a Civic..."

ok, time to put away the F&F dvd

I saw an 8-second drag civic once.

Anyway, you all remember to cycle your motors to break them in, right? It helps a lot.

motor works was my first mini r/c! it kicked the crap outta my friends shens. but like they say you cant really upgrade anything with it. also i get pissed whenever i have to take off the shell. you gotta unscrew that tiny tiny screw all the time... what i actually want to do with it is make it a drag racer. i saw what nefarious did to his and it looks kick ass.

speed isn't everything ya know? just because his car goes fastest doesn't mean your car sucks. try racing him on a track with a lot of turns and see how well he does. most likely he'll end up flipping over or crashing into the sides all the time. just remember theres more to these r/c cars than speed. think about improving handling and such.

also choose the gear axle that suites the course your driving on the best. if its a small track, go with either the 9.86:1 or 12:1 axles. if its a bigger course then 8.25:1.

As much as I would like to be sympathetic to your case I find it somewhat funny that you just up and bought $78 worth of car and parts. Did you drive the car when it was stock? I think if your R spec loses to a 2.2 equivalent or whatever is in there that your motors are all crap and should be exchanged. Basic logic says that your stuff is not okay, that shouldn't happen ever, especially with your gears, faster motor, and better tires.
