And what, sticking the coil in the middle? I heard some clones work like that.

i mean by allowing the 2 magnets to stick together and putting them in equally into the magnet holder so an equal amount is on both sides.

your car wouldnt turn as sharp if you did that........... putting 2 magnets in the middle, now it has half the space that it did to begin with..... so you wouldnt gain anything........l8r

REM's use 2 magnets to replace one. 1 REM is said to be stronger than 1 standard ceramic mag [someone correct me if i'm wrong]
besides, i think putting 2 stock mags in the steering box would limit your steering range [ie sharp cornering goes bye-bye]

Not true at all. The best car I've seen for steering that are the size as the MS's are the MotorWorks which have this set up. I've also done a MotorWorks PCB swap in my ZIPZAP and kept the steering and it's by far my best car. The Dual mags work great. When one magnet is calling the coil, the other is rejecting it. You don't get tighter and more accurate turning then that. Well, the DigiQ's, but...
EDIT:
Oops. Just noticed it was suggested using two original MS mags. Yeah, don't do that. Your steering woudn't stutter, but your turns would be too sweeping.

i tried that. doesnt work. you have no turning at all and two magnets is really heavy for the front so it drags. just get rare earth magnets.
