Chock it up to poor manufacturing tolerances. My microsizer makes a tight turn when I have it going straight, and makes a weak turn in the opposite direction when I've got it steering hard to that way.
YET...I got my brother a 49 mhz RX-7 for Christmas, and it goes perfectly straight and gets about 15 feet of sputter free range, and its MUCH faster out of the box than my Skyline was, despite same motor and gearing.
My Skyline got about 5 feet range and was slow as hell.
You can't expect manufacturing consistency when you pay $30 for an item. I think it may be time for me to buy another car. Maybe a ZipZap, and swap everything from my turnermobile into the longer, drag-ready chassis. And then I'll swap a fullsize wheelset from the Microsizer onto the Zip. No interchangable rims, but it'll have wide wheels and a long frame...should work great.
