Lightbulb Hot-Bit ! Hotwheels bodies for Bits!

HOTWHEELS bodies for your Mini R/C cars.

I dont know if anyone has done this yet, so I'm not trying to steal credit, but I have done this.

Basically, if Hotwheels, or any other toy car manufacturer makes a car, then you can modify your Bit and fit that body onto your Bit chasis.

Good: Hotwheels cars are almost exactly the same width as Bits.
Bad: Wheel-base on Hotwheels are a tad bit longer than Bits'.

Solution and How To:
1. Gut the Hotwheel car or truck or whatever it is.

2. Use Razor blade or Exacto Knife and cut Bit Chassis in half. Be careful not to cut the steering wires, so you wont have to solder.

3. Determine wheel base of Hotwheel. Line up your Bit with the same wheel base and take down measurements.

4. Using cardboard piece, fit the cardboard piece inside the Bit Chassis near the bottom. This must be exact or your bit will be crooked when you put it back together.

5. Once exact size and shape of cardboard piece is found to fit the wheel base of the Hotwheel body, use part of Hotwheel Under-chassis to make an exact replica of the coardboard piece.

6. Use superglue to fit new under-chassis into Bit Chassis.

7. Now fit the Hotwheel body onto your new lengthened Bit Chassis. Both sets of wheels should be in the fender wells, if not, you did something wrong.

8. Make a whole somewhere in the body for your antenna.

9. Once the wheels fit into the fender wells, do your mods on the Hotwheel body so that the Bit Chassis will stay in place. Then Superglue it into place.

10. HAVE FUN !

Note:
Hotwheel bodies are metal and therefore weigh more, A LOT MORE, and your bit will be slower. Remember this when choosing a Hotwheel. Also, some filing may need to be done on the fender wells in order to get a flush look and also for the wheels to turn.

Thats about all that i can think of. I used a green Hotwheels truck that says Yu-Gi-Oh on the side, WTF is Yu-Gi-Oh? anyways, i have a Bit Char-A clone with one battery and a 1.0 motor, and mine works just fine, but perhaps a bigger engine with more juice would make your new Hot-Bit kick more tail? I am almost certain of this, but havent tried yet. Good Luck to all, i will post more if i forgot anything. If you dont understand something, fill free to post a reply to this. Thanks and Good Luck To ALL !
