Watch out at Target
I was roaming through Target today and came across the last of the bits that are priced at $20. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the car inside the box was swapped out with a clone. The motor was missing, and the heatsink was resting inside the car. Be extra careful when you pick them up, and make sure you check the box before you leave the store. Look for signs of tampering, as the people who process returns at these large chain stores either don't know or don't care about what is actually coming back.

That would be unfortunate if anyone bought that. Thanks for the warning.

I work at Target, and everything that gets returned to Guest Services gets sent back to the manufacturer. We don't restock the product and put it back on the shelf. A customer must have done that.

So what you're trying to say is that someone stood in the aisle and swapped out the parts, went over to the stationary department, got some tape, and taped up the box? That's even WORSE! Don't you guys use undercover "shoppers" that cruise around with a cart full of stuff pretending to be shopping? Wouldn't they have seen something like this going on in the aisle. It's much easier to do a slit-n-swap in the comfort of your own home. I'm sure only defective merchandise gets sent back to the manufacturer.

This is why the cost of Microsizers is high!
When people return items they "go back to the manufacturer" (not really though, as most large chains send them to a central point for billing the cost back and then being destroyed). So even if you return a functioning product the large companies bill it back to the manufacturer...and some sneaky large companies have been known to bill back and re-sell at a much later date!

Anyone who has ever watched the Brady Bunch should know that Caveat Emptor is the latin term for Buyer Beware. Who says watching TV is a waste of time.
