my mach-5 bit char-g is 45 mhz. The range is perfect, i love the distance it serves me well. Im pretty sure that anyone who has a 45 mhz bit can tell you this,

45Mhz Fit Race (clone) -- range outdoors 50 feet unmodded (stock antenna, standard transmitter, no cripple caps). Stutter starts to kick in there at 50 feet.

Frequency has nothing to do with range.

The best frequency you want depends on which has the less interference with other stuff around in our house or in the area.

I have the Loctite 45MHz and with the antenna and cripple cap mod my car get about 40+ feet inside. Given that my test was conducted in my unfinished bonus room. So that my results are almost interference free. I also have a 27MHz & a 49MHz, both of which have about the same range...25~30 feet inside.

the mhz number has nothing to do with the range of the car. The only mhz frequency that has any kinds of issues is 27mhz, since many household appliances(ie. cordeless phones) use similar frequencies.

now go out and get one! these are mad fun!

Range and frequency are related if (as with these cars) you just whack a standard length aerial on the tx and rx ... for some frequencies the aerials will be better matched than others. In general, a higher frequency needs a shorter aerial to match.

Given that all these aerials are pretty short compared to a quarter wave whip (at 60 odd inches) then the length of aerial relative to the band probably has a bearing on the range ...

the higher the frequency the easier it is to travel through the air. why dont you guys pull out a physics book or ask your teacher.

go ahead and buy your 27mhz car that gets 6foot range.

mine are clones. two different brands. the 57 is the best range i think. but both are way more than needed.
