4-Band Rev 5 Stuttering

I have a 4 Band Rev 5 controller I am attempting to control a non-boost 45 mhz car with and am having stuttering problems. I have no such problem while controlling my 57mhz boost car. I have replaced the antenna in my suspect car as well as removed the crip cap. Both didnt help any, still have stuttering problems at various ranges.

If I use the stock controller that came with the 45mhz car I have no stuttering problems whatsoever. Has anyone else run into this problem? My next mod will be to try a telescoping antenna on the boost 4band controller, hopefully that will help my situation.

I have the same prob. My friend was tired of having his controller having such short range on his boost machine, so I took it home to see if I could tweak it. I noticed my 45mhz 1 speed had serious range probs with this controller, and stuttered beginning with only 5 or 6 ft! I opened the thing up but could find no crip caps (or anything resembling capacitors) on either side of the board. Interesting to note, the mhz crystals are all 27 45 57 but the 35 is a 35.002 frequency.

could someone point us to a 4-band controller crip cap thread? i couldnt find one, thanks! and what do the capacitors look like on this 4-band board? i couldnt find any that looked like the typical "advil-shaped orange" capacitors.
