Just a little update. I printed out logos and spammed the track a bit I even threw in a little tinyrc spam, I hope free advertizing is ok . I also decorated the walls with stripes. Oh, and I carefully put a light layer of sawdust over the whole thing. That's going to come off though, but it does leave neat tire tracks!
Anyway, here's an update. Just need a few more pieces of misc hardware before it comes up out of the basement.

Look familiar??
Well, once I seen this track I had to build one (great design john). I haven't decided on the infield design yet, but I'm kicking the idea below around.
One new design idea that I haven't seen on any other forum is to use plastic lattice sold at Home Depot. It comes in 8' strips - 1" wide. I have not raced against this material but it's got two things going for it:
1) It's smooth rigid plastic. (similiar to sheetrock J track but thicker)
2) It's bendable. I'm guessing you can bend to form and then use a blow dryer to heat so it stays in the shape you want. Below I just used a clamp to hold the form overnight then cut 1' pcs for the corners.

Now I'd like to merge john's design with this one. (pic is Umi_Ryuzuki's design) If you haven't seen this track before it lets you have 10 different configurations by switching the guard rails. The rails have velcro on the tips to move them around for different routes.

Wow!
Glad I searched around this forum before starting construction... the fold-up track OVER the 4x8 is much better than the "permanent" track I was planning on a sheet of 1" floor-board... hehe...
Leaves me the ability to take-up the track to lie-down hex roll still for Warhammer/Warzone battles... LOL
Keep the ideas rollin'!
