Ok, I wanna go bigger. What should I get?
I'm debating on either the new Radio Shack 1/43 viper, an Epoch, or a MiniZ. Price really doesnt matter. I'm just not sure if the MiniZ is too big for indoor use.
Can anyone comment? I need proportional throttle and steering and Ill prolly wanna mod and hop up whatever I get. Again, this should be for indoor use since Winter is coming.

I've got the RS 1/43 Viper and a Mini-Z. The Epoch Spec 2 is really cool, but I don't think there's much in the way of hopups available. The RS Viper has no hopups and doesn't really invite tinkering, just driving it. It's a novel car for its size and lights, but can be a little disappointing if you want handling and quick, responsive steering. There's no rear differential. I would highly recommend the Mini-Z if you've got the room and a good surface to run it on. Lots of hopups available. This car can be completely disassembled with a good quality #1 screwdriver and just invites tinkering around. Ours was really a B-Day gift to my 13 yr. old, but I enjoy it as much as he does. I guess I'll get my own some day so we can race them together instead of taking turns with a stop watch. We run it on a laminate wood floor with the soft compound tires. It's challenging, but possible. We also have a smooth concrete patio that's perfect for outdoor racing. Various diffs, bearings, shocks, wheels, tires, lighting kits, etc. are available for the mini-z's. Good luck on your decision.

I chose a Mini-Z!
Well, I picked up a MiniZ. So far, I'm really digging it. However I did manage to break the piece that glued inside the body which smaps onto the frame on one side to hold the body on. Damn Chinese instructions! Anyway, All is good. Its pretty fast and handles well. Stock tires are too damn slippery on lynoleum tiles, but works well on my low carpet.
I stopped into a RadioShack in hopes of finding a Rayovac 1 hour charger and some Nimh AA and AAA's. They didnt carry it but had a radio shack one which supports only 4 batteries at a time, plus it charges AA, AAA, and 9volts. Oh well. Maybe I will pick up the rayovac charger online somewhere. The AA's are 1800MaH and the AA are 600Mah. I've read in a forum that 700 would be better, but thats all that RS had.
Cant wait to start tweakin.

when i decided to go bigger, i bought an Auldey 1:16 racewin...sure it isnt that popular in america, because its only in china and thailand etc...but its fun to have.....and its pretty cheap...i paid 26$ for mine...i have an impreza ..i took off all the stickers out of bordem....
it has a 2 speed function just like the bit charg and other cars....i added 2 more batteries to the turbo, so its almost 2x the speed of normal...
its pretty darn fast out of the box...but since i live in america...i cant/dont want to order parts from asia.. ;/
so really have to sorta do with what i have or use parts from other larger cars..haha

I also recommend a mini-z if you want to do a lot of tinkering..Id say you need atleast a medium to big livingroom space to atleast run it in your house. If not, get an EPOCH SPEC 2 racer.. Its very cool and can be ran in bedrooms, kitchens, and living rooms with good grippy sufaces.. Also, when you get one its a must to buy the 4 cell hopup from TINYRC's parts shop!! Oh yeah, Ive had my epochs for almost a year now and i have reaced them against mini-z's with my modded epoch and i can only tell you this, i put them to shame in small to medium tracks with tight courses!! These 1/43's can take hardcore beatings and havent broken a part yet unlike the mini-z's where the servo gears break when hitting a wall...
