del Sol body rumor?
I was wondering if many people here have heard rumors of a Honda del Sol body for the Bit Char-G.
So the story goes, they (Tomy) custom made one for a guy, and popped out a couple more from the mold in case other people wanted one.
I'm thinking it's a hoax...don't know why Tomy would bother making the mold, and not making more to sell out in the market...but I was just wondering if NEbody's at least heard about it.

Ok i can pretty much tell you a mold costs upward of (1 cativity, typically they'd want near 4-8 cavitys, be it all the same or different ) $80,000 USD to make. I doubt they would make a mold for 1 guy, for a measly 1-10 bodies. So if one guy had a Del Sol made by Tomy, chances are soon we should see them, but why?
The Del Sol is done, isnt in production any longer, and never sparked as much interest as Honda thought it would.
They might have made a sand cast mold, but that would produce only one, and making those sand molds makes for a crappy surface (iron cast engine block like look).

the del sol isn't popular enough to be made. if you look at all the bodies made so far, they're all popular JDM cars. so chances are you'll see Silvia before you see del sol. don't hold your breath

I'm calling one of my vendors from work on Monday about a new mold design, I'll email him pics of my bits, maybe he'd be interested in making some mold dies cheap and tinyrc could sell them!
i think the problem would be the CAD files of the vehicles...
if all goes good I'll place a post to start requesting styles.

That would be sweet...
I was just wondering if ya'll had heard of it...I figured as much as a hoax...didn't make sense...that and we got a couple of guys trying to get them to make del Sol bodies in mass to sell, and they're having such a hard time, don't see how anyone could get just one made.
There is a strong demand for the del Sol.....you just have to know where to look
