KT-18 doesn't enter paring mode
Hi,
I've just ran into a problem with my dnano. At a certain moment the communication between the KT-18 and my car suddenly stopped.
I tried to power off and on both the car and the KT-18 but nothing changed. Then I wanted to pair the car again, but it seems that I cannot get the KT-18 in pairing mode (push and keep the 'P' mark and then power on and wait for the light to dim). I've tried it over and over, but the light just keeps bright. Switching to training mode isn't working either.
Any ideas?

push and hold the throttle trim while turning the transmitter's power on. once the light goes off, release the throttle trim and the light should illuminate again but it'll be dim. you've now successfully put your transmitter in pairing mode.

Be careful when pairing. Some times you can get the throttle/reverse backwards and that makes driving difficult.

Had this happen to me. Nothing worked, so I had to pick up another KT-18.

we've had to replace transmitters and i consider the KT-18 to be kinda buggy... if you can, go ahead and upgrade to an M11/3PK with the adapter/module. if you keep having problems, just have them replace it for ya. sometimes little issues can be fixed with resetting and repairing though so... try that first

actually, i'd also recommend the new ko 2.4ghz transmitter that is much cheaper than the ex-10 but has similar features provided you do not need to worry about using it for anything other than kyosho 2.4ghz systems as it does not use modules.
i've been to many races where 3pk's produce a field that creates glitches with other radios and or cars. someone always has either an m11 or 3pk and it almost always happens. i make sure to stand far away from those persons.

Well that exactly what I was doing, but the light doesn't go off. I've hold the throttle trim for minutes...
Is there a way to really "reset" the transmitter?

have them replace it for you... i have a transmitter that has the same problem as yours and i just returned it to my distributor for a replacement. or follow arch's advice and go with the KO Prop EX-5UR which uses the dNaNo/Mini-Z 2.4 GhZ technology

i'd have to confirm the ko ex-5 ur is kyosho 2.4ghz ics compatible... it mentions ds-ss modulation in most descriptions.

The Ko propo ex-5 ur isn't dnano compatible.
It's the Kyosho ex-5 UR ASF who works with dnano, but it looks like it's only available in Japan at the moment.

kyosho transmitters are ko... it's a rebranded ko ex-5 ur with kyosho spec asf 2.4ghz vs. the ko model with ds-ss.

Yes I know that Kyosho Tx are made by KOpropo, but from what I understand the KOpropo ex-5 isn't ASF so it doesn't work with Dnano.
So can you please clarify this for me, that both KOpropo and Kyosho EX-5 UR works with Dnano ? Or is it just the Kyosho one ?
Thanks
PS:sorry for the off topic

you are right in that the ko branded model does not appear to use the kyosho modulation thus will not be compatible with the kyosho asf system.
i'm not sure why kyosho decided to go proprietary other than adding yet another revenue stream to their pockets. it's likely they just pulled the asf off the shelf as it was already in use by their flight product line.
kyosho has rebranded the model as a kyosho transmitter for use with thier asf system so it will not work with the standard 2.4ghz system larger scales use.

i submit for your review, a post @ Kyosho's Akihabara Blog where you can see the KO Propo EX5-UR's box says "ASF 2.4 GHZ" and it clearly has a dNaNo logo on it. i'd assume that means it can be used with dNaNo. what do ya think?

it's not a ko box or the ko version. its a ko radio rebranded by kyosho especially for the kyosho 2.4ghz asf system. your seeing the picture of the kyosho version .
ko transmitter for 2.4ghz ds-ss system
kyosho 2.4ghz for asf system
if your looking to buy one, make sure you get the kyosho 2.4ghz asf version. the ko version will not work with any kyosho 2.4ghz asf rc's.
