I think that new upgrades may be coming out, check out this image from RS's site.

It shows the blue, orange and yellow motors with square caps. I thought that the blue motors were only offered in the Inital D and Fast and Furious kits had round caps. Correct me if I am wrong, but this looks like a new motor/gear upgrade kit, but it doesn't show up on the RS site yet.

Edit: I just realised it is the Purple motor not the blue that was offered in those kits and I always get them confused as they are difficult to tell apart in pictures. Sorry for the confusion everyone.

That looks like a darker blue than the orginal ZZ motor endbell used.

Odd that they would include the blue motor in an upgrade kit. There's nothing really new there for Zips unless the motor specs have changed along with the end caps. Still, it is encouraging to see Zip products still showing up.

I'm not sure I believe the ad. It seems odd to me that they are advertising discontinued items. The could just be advertising them saying there is a possibility you can still find them and upgrade them.

I'd like to see another generation, but I'm not so optimistic.

Azimov, I agree unless that is the purple motor and the picture isn't showing the color correctly. I'm trying to remember what color motors were in the last upgrade kit (I think it was yellow, red and green). I remember the red motor being in there and thinking it was kinda lame since all the new starter kits come witht the red motor. Was the orange motor ever offered in this upgrade kit? I thought it only came in the Initial D and Fast and Furious tuner kits. I could be wrong though.

Jazz, I kinda agree with you. The only thing that is keeping my hopes up at this point is that the Propulse line hasn't been released yet. Once that is released if there aren't any new ZZ upgrades released I will give up all hope.

Edit: I guess I was wrong once again. After searching more I found on here a thread that talks about the upgrades with the square end bells and it had the purple, orange and yellow motors. So I guess this is just a pic of that kit. I wish they would release more of these I could really use 6 of them for my projects. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

The only new ZIP Zaps I see around are the stock Zip Zaps, not the SE, I seen the new ones from the movies CARS, but those are not SE, so I don't care about those.

too bad they stopped the SE line at RS, I like how easy it was to go to any store and find parts...

The Last SE I bought was made in 2005, and it was from the james Bond movie, Are there any newer chassies out there?

I wish they would continue to sell them, Xmods are Decent, but too BIG for my track area, the 64th scale ZZ SE's was PERFECT, and that is why I am stuck using 64th or slightly larger scale.. But anything 42th scale or larger is too big for my track area

Radio Shack had a real nice Nitch product with the ZZ SE's too bad the opt'ed to get out of that line.. that really stinks!!!

I love the size, nothing like having an AFX car you can steer.
