hummer electric winch....
i was wondering....what if i hook up an xmod evo servo without the pointometer and final gear to an xmods light kit???
that way, when i want to use the winch, i can just hook it up and when i hit the throttle, the winch will pull....the only thing i will have to do is reverse the wires on the motor so when i pull the throttle foward, the winch pulls in reverse (in).
just an idea, and as im writting this im noticing how unconfortalbe it would be.
anothe posible idea is an xmod evo servo, witht the pot stripped, and hooked up to the PCB of a cheap tiny R/Cs,(not propo) it has to be small so it works. then hook it up with some resistors and a cap or something and a power swith. this would be a remote controlled winch, which would be freaking awesome....
another idea is just to set up the winch with a 3-step switch, foward-off-reverse. but then you would have to let the winch work by itself and the driver cant controll the winch throttle.
will try it as soon as i am done with my hummers fornt pivot mod and 6/33 gearing.

I'm pretty darn sure you won't get enough power from the LED source off the pcb to run your winch. I think your best bet would be to incorporate a ZZ/bit board and build one from there.
I've had ZZMT boards handle 4.8 volts, but haven't has as much luck with zz/bit boards. You'd need to voltage regulate it or find your own power source. You could use a ZZ se battery, it would be really light and should provide ample power for a few good pulls.

i was thinking about that too, i saw a zip zap se mustang on ebay for like $11 with shipping, the only thing is that it didnt have reverse....worth it for my winch, or should i should buy a in-the-box one so it has foward and reverse.....
i was also thinking about setting it up (like you said) a zzmt battery or similiar to the winch only instead of resistors. because its simpler of course, i want something simple and functional.
i might just run a ZZmt tranny as the winch, if it isnt so space consuming....and i f it has enough torque.
I might not get to work on the winch so much untill after december because i am working on my hummer fornt pivot mod and 6/33 gearing and on a ZZse 4wd basher at the same time, and my budget kinda got cut short.
I am also working on a mini crusher, a SSMT 1/24, and finding funds for a 1/10th scale realistic 4wd.
so yeah, gotta lotta things on hold.

i would help you, if i knew what you were talking about...remember, tinyRc and its brother and sister forums are some of the biggest forums around, and all of us are expected to write clearfully, and with respect....i guess what you what is to know how to mod the board to a winch?
that is totally up to you, if you want to mount a servo to the motor wires, cool...if you wanna come up with somethin gunorthodox, cool.
right now, i havent made any advanced and have lost A LOT of interest in xmods since i now have a ssmt 1/24 and a mini crusher, both much more capable, and I'm soon going to get a micro-T. but i am still going to finish my hummer expedition vehicle along with my nissan titan espedetion/rescue/recovery truck.
if you wanna a thorough explanation, just say it, glad to help. and try to type better.
