New B ( batteries)

I just purchased the Radio Shack rechargeable batteries. (700 mah ).

They do not seem to run very long & power diminishes after 5 min. of use. What do you guys use or suggest.

Thanks,

take out the awd, that binding you described is probably the cause of power loss. the extra strain on the motor will kill the run time also

I have no binding. ( wheels turn free ). Just the frunt left turns slower and has less power to it then the rest. I took the wheel off and the t-bone looks good. It can not be the gears because i just did the AWD conversion?.

In addition were can I find more info about locking the gears so i have AWD all the time. Need to read up on how this is done in detail and find out the pros-cons.

Thanks,

I am new to x-mods and can not stop reading up on them. They are a blast.

maybe your charger blows, i dont use the xmods charger , i got one from radioshack that fully discharges then charges. it works great. i lock my diff with super glue. i have yet to try it with an evo but if you screw it up, i have a spair i will give you.

Do you recommend locking both front and back?. Did you notice a big gain or benefits by locking them.

Thanks again.

dont lock the front, you will probably loose alot of steering that way. there is more off the line traction, but if you race, the car spins out easier due to the locked rear, i do it to every car except my race one.

So if I lock the back, I may have problems spinning out anyway. What is the benefit of locking the rear. I would think Locking the front would be just as good as the back.

My plan was to lock both and upgrade the steering & suspension to make up for reduced turning.

the pros are increased traction during acceleration and less getting stuck on un-even surfaces. the car spins out easier if you punch it out of a turn. soft tires help alot but i recommend gluing them as they fall off easy. i have never locked the front, but i think the car will "push" alot meaning the front will hop or slide through turns reducing steering no matter the suspension. if you want i will send you my spair if you want to try it, i just ask for postage to be paid.
