Why doesn't anyone make a RTR or full kitted 2WD or 4WD TTTT truck?

With the popularity of these in Germany...and the spreading popularity in other parts of the world... and the availability of small electronics (I have a 1-87 scale RC car...not propo but cool nonetheless...and fast)... why doesn't someone like Revell, or Carson...or even one of the independent RC Companies make a RTR or kit TTTT Truck?... either 4WD or 2WD doesn't matter at this point...

Either they're ignorant of the concept, or they're afraid to tool up for a market that might not be that big.

Though you know if somebody like Tamiaya, or Futuba made them, it'd be just about THE hottest new trend. it'd be so cool, but unless we start bothering like every company we can about how they need to build these, I doubt it'll hapen.

I think Nathan found a site were someone would make you a custom one. Kinda pricey but I guess that comes with the custom part. I also thought half the was actually making it the way you want it.

Yeah I contacted Thorsten about making me an RTR. I don't wanna just give out the prices he quoted me so shoot him an email if interested. Pricey but well worth the cost. Everything I've seen of his is quite impressive.

I definitely want to build but as far as making a chassis I really want an RTR to reference. I feel very overwhelmed taking on custom making a chassis.

same here.... I just ordered a bunch of parts from www.mikroantriebe.de. A motor, gearbox (1:120), a tiny ESC, and a servo...and I already have a tiny GWS Rx, a chassis and front axle from TTTT-Parts.org, a Lemo-Solar box motor...and three MAN 5T's (two still in boxes, one already cut up) and some tiny 120Mah cells...(the little green ones).... but I still feel a bit intimidated... I tried using a mini-Z board and wiring it to a standard servo but I messed something up and it didn't work ...that would have been ideal....

I totally wouldn't mind an RTR or at least w/o the radio(they use different frequensices over seas anyway) to get the hang of this thing... then building my own with the parts I have later...

when it all boils down.. eventually I want a six-wheel drive MAN7t with lights.... but I have to take baby steps first...and never seeing one of these in person before makes things hard.... Even if Nate gets his...at least I can look and see how it's made and go from there

You can buy TTTT Trucks as RTR or as a complete kit.

Just follow this link http://www.mikromodellbau.de/en-index.html. It is the same shop, which was mentioned by akura2. www.tttt-parts.org

Allmost complete kits are listed under "catalogue" - "Kits"

There is a short description, what you will get and what you else will need in addition to the kit. Unfourtunatly it is only available in "German" - http://www.mikromodellbau.de/ follow the links "Katalog" - "komplette Kits" - scroll down to the end of the page - try "bablefish" for a translation.

They sell RTR modells as well, as far as i know. But iam sure they are really expensive!

Peter from TTTT-Parts.org almost got mad at me when i asked for a RTR truck...

He really wants me to try and build my own.. so it's ok and I understand

I'm in love with the Roco 484 on the front page of his site... and I can't wait until he has the dual axle setup ready to buy

I have an infrared system on it way from him... (the receiver has a built-in speed control so that will save space), and the Man kit... but the kits are only the chassis, motor and gearbox, and front axle.... the two kits that are at the top of the page include some electronics.. but they are still not RTR... I guess the RTR ones are special order and not posted on the site

Which means, that all trucks with more than 2 axis, are special orders and will be shipped in a premounted condition. But this regards only to the drive train. Everything else must be done by yourself

He DID say that in the spring time he may make me a 484 if time allows... but by then I hope to have a couple TTTs built on my ow

this is what he said when I asked to buy the 484 from his site:

"The 484 is a model, built for an exhibition and we wont sell it, now. If there will be enough time (maybe in spring), we can do one for You, but the problem with ready-built models is always the transport and warranty. "

Looking good Jimmy. Man that does not look easy at all. Still looks like you have a lot more custom pieces that you have to put in there.

actually I have a really tiny ESC on its way... after that.. all I have to do is mount everything, run wires, and attach the servo to the steering rack and I'm done.... after that clean it up and make it look presentable..LOL

I DO have a bunch of parts on the way though... so I'll do another truck or two... (with infrared)

but once I get that esc, I should be set with this one

The steering is imho the most difficult part.

You can drive by wire until you get the new esc.

That's what i allways do, during the development of a new truck. I connect only the motor and the servo with thin (enamelled) wires to standard components from my 1:10 rc's. It is easier to work on the truck without all the electronics on board.
