The guys over at Xmodspeed.com used 2 stock springs on each side to create an extra stiff suspension. Has anyone that uses their Xmod to drag tried this? Do you like it? Did you notice a difference?
The front should be very stiff, and the back should be very soft. The theory is sound, though i dont know how much difference itll make.

another way to make a stiff suspension with the stock springs is to remove the springs and streatch them to about half their length and then re install them,, worked great for me, and beats the heck out of buying those pricy radio shack springs aftermarket
to drag race you want less turning traction in the front and more control than anything since you are only going strait therefore regardless if you use awd or rwd you want soft to medium springs in the front and hard in the back so you get more traction with your tires flat on the ground unlike the soft springs that leave your tires at an angle
In terms of traction in awd soft springs won't affect the front grip of the tires while going strait...although if you are going rwd i would suggest using hard tires so you go as strait as possible
also turning down the steering trim on the controller helps
