I have sent 2 e-mails to Tiny (from the control panel on this site) a month apart asking for an update and for him to post it on this thread. No response. Have we been forgotten, or are we simply being ignored? I've been patient for so long now, but I'm getting a little frustrated at the lack of ANY updates. I was about to purchase another Epoch Spec2 also, but I think I will have to start looking for a more reliable source.

Still nothing. I've sent more e-mails to Tiny and sent a message to the online moderators. Perhaps they can get in touch with him.

Angry Losing my patience.

Absolutely no response from anyone about this. I think all of us who paid our $20 in advance deserve to at least know what's going on! I'm going to try for a little while longer, then I'm going to start filing complaints with Paypal, etc. This is getting a little ridiculous.

If and when we do complain, sue, or whatever, we need to do it as a group. I paid for two sets myself, and could use that money right about now. Anyone live near Tiny's hometown in Michigan. If so, I think it costs about $50 to file a small claims case. We could all chip in a couple bucks for that and get listed on the claim. Keep us posted.

As for Tiny, he has all but abandoned this site. Look it up and you will see that he stopped posting anything after the end of April. Then in June he had to apologize for neglecting this site because someone had hacked in and got all of our email addresses. See this post (and that is the last anyone has heard of him since): http://tinyrc.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=19417

Sounds like a good idea, dgilpin. I sent him another e-mail from the site's control panel, but I don't know if he is getting them. I haven't heard anything, and it does look like he has completely abandoned the site. I may check the site's domain registration info and try to get a phone number. It could be that he has simply forgotten about it and we could straighten it out with him without resorting to further action. Otherwise, I'd be willing to pitch in to get it squared away.

If many of us paid with Paypal, we might can get some help there. Even though it has been past the 30 day limit, if you file a complaint, it goes on the account owner's record, and if there are enough complaints, the account is locked until the owner addresses the complaints. An organized approach would help. They might could provide us with a phone number also.

I'll post more later.

I received the following e-mail from Tiny (tinyrc@tinyrc.com) on 7/4/04:

Quote:
AOG, I apologize, I'm not sure why we haven't been getting your email. Please send us a Payment Request and we'll get you refunded. I'm so sorry this GB has turned out to be such a dud. Please don't take it out on us, however - we were just trying to organize something for the good of our members, we've no intention of ripping anyone off. Thanks!
I have sent the payment request just now and will let the rest of you know when I receive my refund. Others who paid through Paypal may want to do the same. Go to your transaction history and look back to January 2004 or so. Your payment should show up to Mini-ZRacer.com (paypal@tinyrc.com). Mine was for one wheel set; it was $16.99 + $5.00 shipping = $21.99 total.

I'm not trying to be a jerk about this; I understand that things can fall through, and I do appreciate Tinyrc's attempt at the group buy, but I would have appreciated some kind of notice when it became apparent that the group buy was going to be delayed and/or eventually cancelled. I shouldn't have to be the one hunting down my own refund.

Other than that, all's well that ends well...

Thanks for the info, AOG!

Still not sure, but I assume the deal is still on and tiny expects the wheels in someday. If we do get refunds now, I suppose we can just order the wheels if/when they come in (if he lets us know ).

Got my refund today (Friday). If anyone else wants theirs, send the payment request to Tinyrc as mentioned above. I don't think Tinyrc's trying to rip anyone off; looks like the group buy just kinda fell through the cracks. No idea if it will ever be completed, so I guess it's up to each person whether they want to wait around

Thanks AOG for posting the refund instructions etc. We've had a number of refund requests and have processed them all as soon as we received them. I apologize for not keeping everyone better updated. Guess what arrived via FedEx today!? I apologize for the picture quality, I took it w/ my cell phone. In order to allow those who cancelled their order to re-order before they sell out, we're holding off listing them in the Shop initially. If everyone who cancelled could please email shop@ and let us know if you'd like to re-order or just let your wheels be listed in the Shop, we'd appreciate it. Thanks Guys!

Instead of a refund, I asked for a credit toward the purchase of a nice Miniz autoscale shell. Tiny turned it around in less than a week. Very pleased.

Thanks for the post JD; we're going to assume that your wheels are clear for listing in the Shop - right? Thanks!
